Harvard College Working Group on Symbols and Spaces of Engagement

Goal 4

What is it?

February 19, 2019, Harvard College announced its creation of the Working Group on Symbols and Spaces of Engagement, which will examine and evaluate how the variety of spaces and symbols impact the experiences of different students on campus. Members include students, faculty, and staff and is chaired by Ali Asani, professor of Indo-Muslim and Islamic Religion and Cultures.

Why is it important?

To have a specific group dedicated at the college to work on evaluating current signs and symbols at Harvard allows the discussion
